IMU Is Applied In Track/Rail Inspection

Rail transportation becomes more and more significant in the field of transportation, high-speed railway mileage of our country is more than 10 thousand kilometers, ranking first in the world; the railway operating mileage of over 100 thousand kilometers, ranking second in the world; in 2013, our railway passenger volume was over 200 million passengers, passenger rail security has become a major research topic in railway operation, especially in relation to beneficial to human livelihood event.

The railway line becomes not only elastic deformation but also permanent deformation on the role of natural erosion and dynamic effect of vehicle. For the high-speed railway, the deformation of the 1mm may lead to a major accident, causing great threat to people's life and property, and the most effective means to prevent these disasters is track detection. At present, the main method of railway track detection is to track physical parameters by using various track detection devices, and then track the health status through post processing, diagnosis and other systems.

There are 2 types of track inspection car: large track inspection car and rail inspection trolley. The advantages of large track inspection car are high precision, can detect the absolute parameters. It plays an irreplaceable role in the reference orbit regular repair, but in the meantime, it is with high cost, low detection efficiency, and the professional operation is required, difficult to promote widely. Rail inspection trolley has the advantages of low cost, portability and simple operation. It has been widely applied in railway maintenance for daily inspection.
